Hospital Appointment Childcare

Just wondering if anyone has been in same situation recently with the pandemic. My youngest has a hospital appointment at a hospital which specialises with children. It’s 6 hours away meaning I have to stay over however my planned child care for my other son can no longer help and at the moment i have no alternative but to take my oldest with me also. The problem being it specifically says only one adult may attend with the child and no others. If I explain my childcare issue do you think I would be allowed to take my oldest son who is 10 and can happily sit in the waiting room while in attend the appointment with my youngest? Obviously we all follow the strict guidelines masks etc

Do you have anyone else who could help? If the appointment is during half term are there holiday camps running in the area you are going too that they could book into for the day (the 6 hours away area) ? There’s no harm in asking to take the eldest but they might not say yes so I’d be aware that the appointment may get pushed and pursue all possible other avenues at the same time as asking the hospital if they can allow.
