Thanks for reading.
I need to apply for a variance to have 4 under 5 for four hours each week. I'm registered for 4 under 8, 3 under 5 and 2 under 1 if needed.
I have a 6mth old, 16mth old and want to mind 3yr old twins. I was graded as outstanding in my last inspection, have NNEB, 21yrs of experience. But just need a little advice as to what to put in my letter.
Thanks

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

HMI 2089 (Childminding: Guidance to the National Standards, revisions to certain criteria, version 2) is your reference document. See page 7 of the PDF - More than three children aged under five.

I would suggest setting things out very clearly, so that an inspector just needs to glance over you variation request, and say YES . Make it very clear that the 3 year olds are twins - and it is for them that you are making this variation request.
If the 3 year olds are attending pre-school, than state the hours they attend, number of weeks per year etc. Work out an end date to the variation request - such as when the twins start full-time school (10 educational sessions).

Hope that helps a bit Janet... expect Looney will be along soon, to give more tips.

Thanks for that nannynick, I just want to be sure I don't forget to put anything in my letter as they want to start mid November and I know Ofsted can take ages with these things. My last variance for 2 under 1 took 4 weeks to be approved so hopefully I've got enough time to sort it.
Thanks again Nick.
