Bit of a long message here so bear with me please. I'm Isobel and I'm a recent school leaver from Edinburgh. I'm not going to university and I'm not currently in employment as I'm finding it really hard to get a job with the current situation. I have experience, quite a considerable amount for my age, looking after kids and it's something I really enjoy doing. I signed up for lots of childcare websites and have messaged hundreds of families who are looking for childcare, but I have just had absolutely no luck. People ignore my applications or start chatting with me about their requirements and then leave me high and dry. When I was at high school I solely ran a few children's charity events and, in doing so, I spent a lot of time being in charge of groups of children. I'm a night shift crisis counsellor for a mental health charity so I'm able to understand lots of emotional, personal or mental health struggles children and families may be going through. I've babysat for lots of different people throughout my life. Many people have mentioned that I have a good nature with children and they seem to take well to me looking after them. I also have a clean DBS check and am waiting on a PVG form coming in. I don't know if it's my age or something else, but I'm finding this all very difficult so any tips or anyone who knows of any childcare jobs going in Edinburgh please reply. Thank you so much.
