CMs : Anyone have an assistant??

I am a cm, have been for nearly 3 years. My sister goes on Mat Leave in Jan from her current lowly paid job and is already dreading going back to work and having to pay for childcare (I have offered some for free as she's family but can't do it all!). My mum (half-jokingly) said could she be my assistant but actually I discover my sister's quite up for it!

Does anyone have an assistant? How does it work, do they do the First Aid/ICP/etc and become a CM in their own right just based at my address? How do you work out the financial bit? I know that we'd both be allowed up to 6 mindees each (taking our own into consideration as well), would it be possible for her to be working and me not -as I'm more of a part-time cm whereas she might need to do more to meet her mortgage and bills!

Thank you in advance!

Hi i used to wprk as an assistant before becoming a cm all i did was fill in a form that ofsted gave me and a crb check form and have written permision off of the parents for me to be left un supervised with the children untill everything came through as it can take up to 8 plus weeks for all checks to be done. As 4 wages i used to earn £5.85per hour u also need to inform ofsted that your taking om an assistant as they will send you a new certificate out with your numbers for when working with an assistant on it... hope this helps.
