Uber for Kids - would you use it?

Hi all! My husband is working on a childcare app and wanted to see if families would use it, so looking for your take Smile...

It provides safe rides for kids 6+ with fully-vetted, finderprinted caregivers. Think of as 'Uber for kids' for when families are short on time and need a simple, stress-free way to get your kids where they need to go e.g. schools, clubs, friends. What do you think? If secure, would it solve a problem for you?

Thanks!

No way am I sending my kid off in a car with a stranger!

Personally no, but DS is only 2. For older kids I can see that it would be helpful.

I’m not sure about 6 years old but I have used Uber for my daughter from age 13 when in emergencies she needed collecting and it would be a long time for me to get to her. I could see the whole journey plus the Uber driver called when when they got to destination to also let me know.

Your DH has no need for this app. Black cab drivers have already been fully vetted, no criminal record and a road worthy vehicle, insured fully.
Statistically they're a thousand times safer than Uber could ever try to be, though who would do this with children as young as 6 beats me I'd be a wreck

Absolutely no way

I definitely wouldn't
