looks great, file not found when you click home though.

ayla99 · 10/09/2007 18:31

looks like the home page is index.html but the hyperlinks from the subpages are pointing to index.htm so page can't be found. Just need to add an l to the links.

where is the best place to put adverts up?

I was thinking that liraries might be quite a good place. Where else?

think your location should be on the home page

apart from that , great !

you'll love the NB course , happy doulaing!

WotsZePoint · 10/09/2007 22:07

add you location as lulu says.

I am not sure if a professional site would use the pic on the right on home page TBH. I don't feel comfortable with it, but then that's my way of thinking if it was my dds picture. IMHO.

Aim to get web search traffic to your site - while some of it will be from people uninterested in your service, some may convert into work. Therefore aim to get your web url indexed by Google and other major search engines as quickly as possible.

One way to do that is when a message board permits links in signatures (Nannyjob is an example) then use that section to promote your website - just a simple text link is sufficient.

With regard to the site content itself, I would aim to have more information on the home page, explaining what the service does - how it benefits the buyer. Don't go overboard though, keep it clear and simple, so that first time visitors who come across your home page are enticed to view further information.

after getting lots of feedback I have decided to make a few changes like

add a pic of me
add sleep consultancy on
put more info on front page and also my contact details
add info on becoming a doula and their role
explain what a crb is
put in my location and age.

Anything else?
