Hi!

I'm about to have a conversation with my bosses about what happens if any of us catches it. And was wondering what are your thoughts?

One of my bosses can work from home, one can't. So if the one who can't stays at home (because their place of work closes due to virus), and they can look after children, do I still get full pay? My contract only mentions that they pay me in full if they take more holidays than my annual allowance. Does it work the same?

Also, statutory sick pay is at the employer's discretion. I've been with them for 4 tears, and never called sick. What is your employer's discretion..? Grin

I would love to know too! both my mb and db can work from home but I'm guessing if one of us gets it we all will do no one will be working! I'm entitled to statutory sick pay so that's what I'll expect and just count myself lucky if they give me more! If they were both home on full pay and only paid me statutory sick pay I think that would be really tight!

Statutory sick pay is just that - statutory.
Can't be at employer's discretion!!!

Ok, had a talk, my bosses are lovely btw, and she assured me that as long as one of them have a job, I will not be out of pocket. But, she will be working from home from next week 🤦‍♀️

Ok, my bad with the wording about sick pay:

10 SICK PAY

The Employer will operate Statutory Sick Pay (“SSP”) in accordance with statutory provisions. Any payment over and above SSP will be made at the absolute discretion of the Employer.

Great
Glad all sorted
Was just surprised that SSP could be at employer's discretion

My contract says ssp but I’ve been in full for 14 self isolation
