Can anyone help re non performance of nanny agency? Keeping £6k fee and we have no nanny!
We registered with a nanny agency. We gave them our requirements and they drip fed us 2/3 a week, but often on meeting them, the nannies were not suitable with an apparent lack of interest in young / toddler aged children! The nannies also often had a list of requirements and things they don’t like doing!! We finally met someone and offered a role and were then required to pay the £6k agency fee. However, the nanny was clearly not invested in the role, with no morale commitment to it, and decided she didn’t want the job after 3 days. Despite persuading her to stay for a week and a half further, she never signed her contract and we then parted company after 2 weeks. The agency won’t refund our fee and are only offering a replacement, but have not sent suitable CVs and continue drip feed those they do. Any similar experiences and successful fee refund?

What does the agency contract say? Most specify replacement not refund. We had a case where the nanny resigned one day after the free replacement date and was placed in a new role by the same agency - so double commission for them and an annual salary based commission on what was, I suspect, only ever intended to be a short term temp job.
