I really need to get back to work for financial reasons, have 4 children youngest is 1, others at school. I can only do 8-5, Monday to Friday, but the jobs I've seen advertised Are in shifts, and you get a months notice on what your hours are, the older kids are easy enough as I can add breakfast and after school club with only a days notice, but for my 1 year old would it work with a childminder?! If I gave my hours as i got them or do they need to know well in advance?

I need to keep my childcare costs down as much as possible as although I will get help from universal credit my childcare bill will exceed the maximum they will help with.

I can't go back to my job I had before baby as it was care work and they expect me to do weekends/ evenings which I can't now that I'm a single parent.

Struggling to figure out how to work around my kids and would appreciate anyone in the same boat sharing how they do it.

Hi,

It does sound challenging, but are there any office jobs around? Those would be perfect for your hours and days.
