Italian police check

Anyone run a European/Italian police check on an au pair? Is this necessary? If so, how do you do it?

We've offered an au pair role to a nice Italian chap and wanted to do a police check - as we'd do with a British nanny or similar. We've requested references but, with being a recent graduate, he only has a work experience role (in an unrelated field).

You need to ask them to get one. If you google "how to get a police check in Italy" the correct info comes up.

Our first au pair was Italian, hers too maybe 4-5 weeks to come through.
