Anyone had success in backdating Tax Free Childcare Payment

I very stupidly didn't pay attention to the Tax Free Childcare and assumed in would be paid through the PAYE return. Clearly not!

Anyone had any chance to get back pay for reasons other than technical. I realise that my main reason is stupidity and disorganisation, but its worth a try!

Bump

Anyone?

For every £8 you pay into an online account, the government will add an extra £2, up to £2,000 per child per year

You might not have any responses, because it's unclear what you're trying to do. The extra tax free money should have been added when you made the payment?

I don’t understand how You would get back payments? If you don’t pay in it cannot be topped up.

I think OP didn’t pay in last quarter (for example), so didn’t get their z£500 when they paid in £2k. They now want to pay in double this quarter but even if they pay in £4K they’re capped at £500 top up for the quarter.

Sorry OP, no idea. If it’s just 1 month you messed up, as I say I think it works in 3 month blocks so you should be able to pay in double this month. If it goes back more than 3 months I don’t know. Can you give them a call?

I’m pretty certain once the three month block is done it’s done.
