As some of you may recall, I have to go through entire registration process from the start. You may also recall that OFSTED told me that I could get my CM 1&2 forms from hampshire CIS (or whatever it's called down here) offices, and I called them up and they said "yes we will post them out to you".
No sign of them, I thought perhaps it was delay due to strikes so called them up and asked.
"Oh no, we don't give out these forms, you need to attend the NCMA run sessions". I point out that OFSTED told me that I could get the forms from them, and that as long as I did the ICP course within 6 months I would be ok.
NCMA said, no that's not right, you need to attend the courses before we can give you the forms, you will get them at the very last session you attend! - which is in january.
After much arguing on my part, explaining that yes I understood that I needed to attend the courses, at no point had I said I wasn't going to, yes I understood the courses and the handing out of forms were for people who had never done it before, etc etc - 45 minutes I was on the phone, she agreed to send me out CM1 form only, on the condition that she received from me a completed application form stating which date I would be attending courses9CM1 won't be sent out until she receives form from me). I will have to wait until all courses have been done before CM2 is sent out.

No F*kin wonder people don't want to CM if this is how the NCMA/OFSTED/CIS etc treat people.

Even bloody OFSTED didn't get it right, they are the ones who told me that I would be able to get the forms from CIS.

Totally feel for you, it's CRAZY!!! I'd either phone again or email and insist on speaking or being put in touch with an inspector for your area. I'm sure they'd be much more understanding!!! Please at least try, January is AGES away, it's crazy you having to wait so long, this is your living!!!

Oh Saltire, I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time. Its just so ridiculous! I understand, kinda, that you were working under another governing body, but ffs, you were still in the UK!!! Surely to god, the Scottish OFSTED and the England OFSTED can speak to each other. Imagine if someone moved a hundred yards down a street from Scotland into England, would they really have to go though the whole process all over again? So [cross] for you.

MaureenMLove · 10/08/2007 12:52

OR even for you!

saltire · 10/08/2007 13:00

Maureen, I think it's ludicrous too, even more so when you consider that OFSTED told my MP that they have facilities in place to "rush thorugh" the registration of someone who moves from Scotland to Ebgland.
Most of my problems seem to be at the NCMA level at the minute though. They keep telling me how i "have to" attend these courses, if I don't I won't get my start up grant, won't be able to access any training etc etc. I know all that, what I want is for my CM1 & 2 forms to be sent out so I can at least start the process
