Has anyone tried this new method of verifying your identity for CRB forms?
I did this today... as am in process of transferring from Childcare Approval Scheme to Ofsted Childcare Register. Alas it did not go smoothly - though it was not Ofsted's fault. The post office staff had no idea what the form was, didn't know how to process it.
Did manage eventually to get it done - with luck correctly - fortunately as I have completed so many CRB forms over the years, it did not matter that the person checking the form did not know about the form, as I had made sure I had completed all the right parts, in Black ink etc. Called Ofsted helpline and once they had worked out what I was calling about, they tried their best to work out what the post office needed to do. The KEY was the barcode on the Veri-fy form... once that had been scanned by the post office computer, it then gave the sub-postmaster some details about what to check.
Just wondering if anyone else has gone through using Veri-fy... did it go smoothly, or have you experienced trouble?
I suppose at least is is better than having to travel 20+ miles to an office to have my ID checked, as happened in the past. With luck come next summer, the post office staff will have had their training and know how to process next year's form.
