Thinking about childminding with SIL. Thoughts?

An idea that has been bouncing around for quite some time. SIL is in an office job which she finds tedious and is desperate for a change. I have a shop which is busy, but a LOT of worrying and stress as I work in a service type business.
I moved house last year that has a large side room extension with a business licence and we have been talking about it for a while. I have two children both at primary school, SIL has a 1 and 4 year old.
How would it normally work with two childminders working together? Does anyone find parents prefer/not like the idea?
I just feel like we could support each other and share job roles. We both adore children and happy to do all the necessary training.
Also wondering how money would be split? She would have her own young child whereas mine are both at school.

Hi.. I have experience of being a childminder working with another in her home. First of all, the amount of children you will be able to care for will depend on the area of space available for minding.

We were granted up to 6 children under 5 years old (this includes your own children). We were both self employed as seperate businesses and would take 3 children each. I also paid a monthly amount for using her house wear/tear on furniture etc.

Did you find it better working with someone and sharing responsibility. We have a great relationship and wouldn’t want to put any stress on that.

Yes it was great to have adult company. Spending 10+ hours a day with children is hard! However, we were very different and it did put a strain on our relationship a few times. She would be lenient with payment at times where as I wouldn't be. My clients would then compare and resent me at times.
