Bless her! Can you put a rubber glove on her, so she can play water games in the garden? Or how about both of you practice drawing or colouring with the wrong hand? How about hand and foot prints in paint. Have you got any others to look after today?

Hi,
Not really sure what seven year olds like to do.
Can you do hama beads one-handed? or use pva glue on some paper and sue her left hand to stick on beads, felt etc to make a picture?

Could she make collections of things and categorise them - some one else helping with writing - leaves, stones shells etc.

Sorry just brainstorming really.

Ooh that's tricky, poor thing! How about...
Dominoes
card games like snap, find the pairs
put some of her favourite music on and do the percussion to it (ie maracas, tambourines)
hopskotch
board games
get a marble, plop it in paint, then roll it around on some paper in a tray
how about a nature hunt in the park/garden.

Will try and think of more.

Not Snap Kay! Having been there with dd is plaster, I nearly ended up in plaster everytime we shouted Snap and both slammed our hands down on the table!

Thanks for the ideas everyone, she is the only mindee I have today aswell as dd 14 mths but not sure how long a broken thumb takes to mend so may need ideas to cover quite a few days!!!

As its such a lovely day here might try the outdoor suggestions first and keep the others in reserve incase the weather turns!

I know thumb injuries take quite a long time in adults. My postman broke his thumb about 3 months ago and only been back at work 4 weeks! Hopefully, little thumbs don't take as long.
