After 3 years we will be leaving our childminder due to moving house out of the area. She has looked after our DD since she was 3 months old so we are rather attached and we know she absolutely adores our DD. What would you suggest to be a suitable gift on DD last day to say thank you?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ahhh she must be heartbroken that you are moving ! An open door for visits /Skype/FaceTime etc would be a great addition to any gift relevant to her likes.

Wine, chocolates, flowers, voucher for a manicure. Any nice little treat really. I'm a childminder and I'd be touched with any of these gifts. A little keepsake card with a lovely message in it would also most certainly be appreciated.
What I generally don't really want is toys. Although still very kind of the gifter and appreciated, I generally prefer to buy my own toy resources.

I was once gifted a small trinket with forget me nots on it and it always reminds me of that person

Great ideas thank you.

Will definitely not get toys!

We are working on a nice card with photos of them together but still want to buy something she can keep as a reminder.

We hope they will keep in touch for as long as possible. Smile

Not something for children I would imagine.
My mom's making our childminder a loads of quilted memory items, to say thank you. She has two daughters my sons age.
Forget me. Nots also a great idea

What does she enjoy doing outside of her job? Does she have a garden? We gave our teacher a planted box with tea herbs in it along with a beautiful flowery teacup and a tea infuser. She likes flowers and herbal teas.

I'm a childminder, and my best gifts have been theatre/cinema/pizza express dta vouchers that I've been able to enjoy with my own kids.

Wine is also great!

My favourite gift as a childcarer was a plant pot that the parents had taken the kids to paint at a pottery place with their hand prints and a quote. I absolutely love it.

We have decided to go with jewellery and a home made card.

Thank you for all your ideas and suggestions. Smile
