What to expect when travelling with family

Hi, I'm due to travel with work in a few months & I'm not 100% sure what to expect. I'm under no illusions that it's work and not a holiday but what are the differences being that I'm away from home? Am I to be paid any extra being that I'm a live out Nanny, am I required to share a room with the children, days off etc, do I get an allowance?

Any information would be a great help. Thanks!

It's all to be negotiated but I would ask sooner rather than later. Usually you can expect to have your own room, if you are on call to them all night then you should get a good proportion of the day off. That said the family may have done this before so already have answers. Typically you would get a full day off per week and some overtime pay as you are away, then all expenses paid eg accommodation, 3 meals a day and drinks as required (not alcohol necessarily). I've never paid a holiday nanny but friends do, but they don't expect the nanny to share with the kids just entertain them during the day

Thank you. I'm going to have a sit down with them soon
