We are claiming universal credit, I don't work, my partner works and we have a child under 2 while I am at college part time.

There is a day where my partner is struggling to get home in time for me to get to college so we're looking into a solution for this.

Is there such a thing as hourly child care / supervised play sessions? It would be in the early evening, and only for a hour or two.

Private nurseries etc don't fit our needs, and are WAY out of our budget (costs not covered by UC as I'm out of work)

Can you get any childcare covered by college. It'll depend on your age usually.
Try childminders, they might have ch who've gone home already by that time.

Is there a website etc for childminders in areas? Or just search around? I had a quick online place but no luck.

College won't help as nursery shut by the time my class starts

If it's outside of school hours then a local sixth former would be happy to do this for some extra cash
