Hi, just wondered how all of you charge for this. Do you charge a minimum of hours or just the hourly rate?

I assume you mean as childminders?

when i nanny for school age chidlren i get paid all day regardless!

mykidzrmyworld · 21/06/2007 22:10

I just charge the hourly rate and round up. Some childminders have set fee's or minimum charge!

dmo · 22/06/2007 09:31

i have a min hrs of 3 hrs per week for any child and charge per hr for before and after school which inc snacks and activitys

moonstar04 · 22/06/2007 09:46

I have a minimum of two hours for minded days requested. I have had some parents just want their child being taken and picked up from school which does not even cover 1 hour, so I put the minimum of two ours into my policy to make it worth my while.

ayla99 · 22/06/2007 10:58

i charge session rates - £4 for an hour before school & £12 for the 3-6pm slot.

dmo · 22/06/2007 12:06

do you write that ayla99?
so if they do 3-6 how much do they save?
sorry being mean arnt i but i always laugh when i see things like that cause if i paid the £4 per hour i would still be paying £12 for the 3 hrs

alison222 · 22/06/2007 13:00

Dmo I assume that means that even if its just half an hour Ayla still gets the £12.00 though

ayla99 · 22/06/2007 13:03

??? They don't save. Who said anything about saving ???

If I charged by the hour and they only wanted an hour after school, I would lose out as I'm never going to find a parent wanting a 4-6pm slot. So they pay for the full session, whatever time they want to leave.

I charge for a minimum of one hour for either before or after school. I've had some children who just come in the morning, some who just do afternoons, some who do both (so will pay for 2 hours minimum), and some who have shift-working parents! An afternoon snack is included.

My hourly rate is the same for all children, although I know some CMs charge more for schoolchildren.

nally · 22/06/2007 20:44

i charge a minimum of £10 per day.
