30 hours free funding as well as childcare element?

I understand once a child turns 3, they get 30 hours free childcare. However, can you get that as well as child tax credits (childcare element)? At the moment that is what I am claiming which pays for childminder. Or can I only get one or the other? Thanks

You need to qualify to get free 30 hours childcare. Every 3 year old can get 15 hours but there are extra requirements to get the other 15 hours. Don't know how it ties in with tax credits though

Yes you can use 30 hours funding with tax credits but your tax credit award will be reduced as your childcare cost will be lower.
