How long to keep receipts for?

Obviously I've submitted my 05/06 tax return for childminding, which was accepted and I paid what I owed.

Do I need to still keep all the receipts etc?

Hiya, can't remember how long but keep for several years as you'll need to prove your workings out if you are assessed

what happens if you have a house fire or something?

jellyjelly · 03/06/2007 14:58

tHEY get burnt.

looneytune · 03/06/2007 16:01

I think if that happened, all you could do is phone up and ask what happens in that situation.

jellyjelly · 03/06/2007 17:17

Sorry was being humerous. I agree you would just have to phoen up and i doubt they could do much.

I wouldn't ring up and ask anyone anything - just in case they suddenly decide to check your accounts!!
