Any experience of sharing childcare with other mums?

I know that in the past women in local communities shared childcare so they could work etc and I'm interested in setting something up, a sort of a mother's cooperative childcare scheme. Does anyone have any experiences of this way of working out childcare?

No experience but I think it's a great idea, particularly for those that work shifts... However, I don't think it would be "allowed" because of OFSTED etc.
