Could anyone give me a rough idea of how much a costs to employ a live in nanny? We have an attic conversion with a bathroom and and two bedrooms so nanny would have own area of the house. 3 dc. Baby who is 1 year old, 9 year old and a teenager (wouldn't need any looking after but would be at home in morning before school and after school). Hours would be roughly 6.45 am ish to around 4.30. I live in the south Wales area. Hope it's ok to ask, I have no idea how to find out this kind of information. Thanks

£500 a week perhaps. Nanny's salary would be £350-400 gross per week plus you then have payroll admin, pension, employers NI, cost of all food 7-days per week, cost of providing internet access, shower/bath. Outings with you family, as well as the usually weekly activities they would do with the children.

Hard to come up with a total cost as tricky to cost some parts of it as they are living with you. Loss of privacy is a cost that is very hard to quantify - do you really want someone living with you? Have you considered if someone local might be suitable and thus not need accommodation?
