Not using pre school?

3 yo DS is in nursery 1 day a week. I wanted him to go to the pre school in our village for the following reasons: more stimulation and interaction with other kids, pre school is attached to the primary school he will probably go to, I thought it would be good for him to get used to going to the setting and possibly meet kids he will go to school with. Pre school would also be free for us under the 30 hours childcare but nursery can only offer 15 hours free, and they don’t have much availability for him to go to more sessions, they do have some but it might involve some juggling.

But I visited the pre school today and whilst the kids seemed happy enough, the manager who showed me round seemed bored and disinterested, didn’t talk much and I just didn’t get a good vibe.

We are very happy with his nursery and am thinking of just increasing his hours there instead . But I don’t want him to miss out on going to pre school for the reasons I gave above. Am I overthinking this? Thoughts?

If you don't need 30 hours for work, and you are happy with the Nursery he goes to, then I'd leave him there.
dc at that age just play with whoever they happen to be standing next to. They don't need to 'make friends with' dc they are going to school with (possibly) in a year's time.
If the Pre-school didn't give you the right 'feeling', then it probably isn't the right place.
