Morning, I'm so tired, (slight rant alert! Sorry) dp insists on going to dd2, now she's in the habit and we have broken nights alot, this is the main reason for the move. I'm so sick of it, I say don't go in to her every 5 mins you're giving her what she wants, she doesn't need anything but he goes in because he says it's not fair on dd1 its catch 22 then when he gets tired he wakes me to go in there.........this morning i feel fed up of the merry go round this is why whatever the consequences i can't wait for us to move so the girls are in different rooms and he doesnt cave at her every whimper.

LoveMyGirls · 16/05/2007 08:04

Sorry i killed it with my ranting.

Moving on......

Toddlers is cancelled, have suggested soft play instead that's bad though because instead of 75p its more like £7

Katymac · 16/05/2007 08:06

DH has college & I have a physio appt - so what do we do with DD?

Grump....strop...stress

Shoshable · 16/05/2007 08:17

LMG is it worth asking for CM rates, ours charges us, £2.00 per child or 3 for £5.00,

It must be something in the air,

My mood is getting worse, mindee has turned up this morning face absolutly caked in dried on snot all wiped across his face, trousers too big and falling down (luckily i have found some elastic inside and have managed to keep them up) wouldn't mind if it was a 1 off but everyday he comes either with dinner on his face from the night before or clothes far too big or no bag (so no nappies etc) It's jsut a case of different standards i guess.

Don't think they will do cm rates, It's £2.50 per child inc snack and drink then £1 for me to have a drink and i'll probably want 2 for the time we will be there. It's only a 1 off though so mustn't complain too much.

crace · 16/05/2007 09:09

Oh no, it must be the weather.

We are off to the madness known as toddlers - shortly, once I have had my breakfast. I get up at 6 to shower, get ds and dh's lunches made, and then dd, ds, and dh breakfast all before dh leaves at 8.

Mindee 1 arrives sometime after 7am, and then she needs breakfast too.

Then its walking bus to school at 8.10 and back home at 9. So I am having MY breakfast now, if that's ok with everyone. Honestly! lol

KaySamuels · 16/05/2007 10:31

I started off the day badly too - had a row with dp when I found he had a saucy picure as his screensaver on his phone told him he is not a 20 something lad he is in his 30s with 3 kids and a partner and one of these people should be his screensaver! he took it off and scuttled off to work! Can't even blame it on pmt, just does my head in!!
Phew that's better rant over!
Got the day off but have no money, and it's raining . Can't wait til I've passed driving test.

OFSTEDoutstanding · 16/05/2007 10:35

Hi anyone there I am so bored waiting for mindee to arrive and almost 2 hours late should be doing housework butam hiding in here so I dont have too

dmo · 16/05/2007 11:03

having a good day so far
put lining paper all over the floor and four plates of paint and all 3 mindees did hand and feet prints then all had a bath

having quite time now

really remember i said a mindees mum had given me notice on sat as i was off work on fri afternoon ........
well i text her last night as i had no expernation of why mindee had left and ask her for 2 wks notice
she text back and said she had spoken to Ofsted and they have told her no notice needs to be given under the circumstances.
text back to say i was not aware of why mindee had left
she said i had given her 2 hrs notice to say i couldnt pick her son up from school which nearly caused her getting sacked and said my additude on the phone was not proffessional
she also said Ofsted have informed her that i have to write to her (dont know what i am meant to write) and that a record of all this would be put into the post today (not sure if she is posting it to me or Ofsted)
so just fumming at mo

MaureenMLove · 16/05/2007 11:09

Blimey you're a happy bunch aren't you? Right, salsa lessons, in here, lunch time. That'll sort your moods out! {Mo relaxes back on the chair, realising she has no children until after school!}

julia5 · 16/05/2007 11:12

dmo thats awful, what a rotten thing to happen. It's probably for the best you couldn't continue working effectively with that family .

It must be the weather, everyone is missing sunshine this week. We've just been trotting round the village, mindee (boy age 2) had cabin fever so we climbed into wet gear and had a lovely wet walk he's asleep now, all that fresh air

OFSTEDoutstanding · 16/05/2007 11:13

OMG sounds like you might be well rid of her. I know if you are given notice verbally by a parent you should put it in writing to the parents so they cant change their mind something along the lines of

Further to our conversation on ........ I am putting in writing that you verbally gave me your notice on ........ therefore the 2 weeks notice will end on .................

You can put something about your regret to it coming to an end or about the things you have enjoyed with the mindee if you want. Not sure if she meant inwriting to OFSTED or you but maybe you should ask her. Do you have your complaints policy in place and a complaints document to record it in cos if OFSTED get in touch it will be the first thing they will want to see at a guess. Can I ask why you only gave a couple of hours notice fornot collecting? Though it sounds like she is being quite unreasonable as we are not robots and cant be there every second of every day things do come up. hope the advice helped

mumlove · 16/05/2007 11:14

dmo Surely ofsted would have told her that she would have to give notice as agreed in her contract, I thought a contract notice could only be not used if the child was at risk in your care.

dmo · 16/05/2007 11:17

on friday i walked to pre-school to pick up mindee and felt faint so sat down at pre-school for a while
i then headed home with 2 mindees and once home fainted
so called all parents to say i wouldnt be working
turned out i was in bed all weekend ill had ear infection and sore throat

OFSTEDoutstanding · 16/05/2007 11:19

Then surelythe parent would rather you didnt work than ran the risk of fainting again on the sideof the road during the school run it makes me that sometimes parents see us as being always at their beck and call I am still waiting for my 8.30 drop off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dmo · 16/05/2007 11:21

mumslove i dont think she phoned ofsted so going to wait for letter photocopy it and send it to NCMA its a shame to cant print out text messages too or i would have sent them too

MaureenMLove · 16/05/2007 11:24

Oh lord, DMO, thats awful. Some people just don't seem to think further than their own little work bubble do they? I would have thought if she signed a contract, with a notice clause on it, then she hasn't got a le to dtand on. I can't believe someone could be that awful to anyone.

crace · 16/05/2007 11:25

I agree, surely the parent would think of their child. People! I am sorry you are dealing with this, what a nightmare.

dmo · 16/05/2007 11:49

how you feeling crace? hugs your way

dmo · 16/05/2007 12:58

where is everybody i've killed the thread

MaureenMLove · 16/05/2007 13:01

Bless! I'm here! Unlike those who have a boring office job and can sit in peace and quiet to have their lunch, our lunchtimes are the busiest! I haven't got any kids til after school today though, so I AM having a quiet peaceful lunch!!

dmo · 16/05/2007 13:03

good on you maureen
had lunch, cleared up, mindees are asleep now
also tidyed all the toys up

MaureenMLove · 16/05/2007 13:05

I really should do something constructive but I work so much better under pressure, so I'll worry about it later!
