Hi, I'm looking for a local childminder or babysitter for my 7 years old. I liver in Timperley, Altrincham. if anyone has any suggestions please. I am looking for a flexible hours childcare as i work in shifts and some of the shifts finish late night-around 11pm. If there is an option of school pickups, that will be an additional benefit. I am in urgent need as I have to work my late shifts from next week.
any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
P.S. I am registered with childcare.co.uk and FIS for Trafford council- but no luck yet.

I think you need to be clear in your advert (and you may need 2) exactly what you need. If you asked many childminders if they could or are babysitters they will say no so wont look at your ad.
Do you need any school drop off and which school?
Do you need full days in holidays?
Obviously the 11pm bit you would want your child to be home in bed so not a childminder which is where the 2 ads may come in you could look at a childminder for day time and baby sitter for evenings...
Or you could consider a live out nanny but more expensive.
You also need to give someone an idea of how many days of each you need so if its alternate weeks etc. some may consider it if its only a few lates a month but not want all the time as many have their own children who need to be in bed. you could look to see if there are any childcare courses near you with students wanting evening work to help on the late shifts....but whoever you get must be old enough to collect from another childcare setting (some require 17 others 18).

Thank you Jannier for a detailed reply. Your suggestions are great and I truly appreciate your time to reply.
I guess I shouldn’t be looking at Childminder as Late timings can probably be only covered by babysitter/nanny. And you are right - liveout nanny is too expensive currently.
Here’s a rephrased version. Hopefully someone can help.

I am looking for a babysitter for a few late shifts and few nights depending on my rota. (As I work in A&E so there’s not much choice and sometimes I cannot finish at exact finishing time).
The hours can be from 7 to 12 hours depending on the shift and the day I am working. This can be 2 days a week upto 4 days maximum. Full day for school holidays is preferred.
School pick up is required from Forest Prep School in Timperley.
Thanks.

Hi, Are you looking for childcare, please contact me. I am based in Sydenham, London SE26. Thank you

Remember that any replies for Nannys/babysitters must legally only want to work from your home and child-minders will be from their home and registered by Ofsted they will be able to show registration and insurance. You will also be able to use various childcare schemes for Ofsted registered care to reduce the cost.

@Amber007 this lady is in Manchester not South London

I don't think Forest Prep is based in Forest Hill. 😉

If you use registered care you can use the tax free childcare, childcare vouchers, or tax credits depending on your eligibility.
