LoveMyGirls · 15/05/2007 07:50

I thought that this morning as well! Going to toddlers today.

mumlove · 15/05/2007 08:21

Mindees her know so we can start to put on our wet weather clothes. why oh why can't it rain just overnight!
Got to do school run, then preschool, toddler group and back to preschool, have lunch, put 1 down to sleep and get up before going back to school, take DD for her hip x-ray (has to miss ballet - waits for her to scream!) then mindees going home.
Can I get much more into 1 day.

Shoshable · 15/05/2007 08:25

Goodness Mumlove, thankfully all the mindees were on a late start this morning, mums got together and co ordinated dentists so that we still had time to go to soft play, then home for lunch, sleep, school run, mindees all gone by 5.15 tonight so nice.

I've got DD off schoolfor the 4th day

Gastro enteritus - apparently it isn't very catching & as long as I keep her away from the mindees it's OK

But it's hard work spliting myself in 2 - fortunatley DH is arround most of the time - but sometimes she just wants mum

crace · 15/05/2007 08:47

It was on yesterdays thread, it showed that I had lost the baby - but that's a good thing, it's all going as nature is intending and that is comforting in a way..

KaySamuels · 15/05/2007 08:48

Morning everyone [smile

I'm off to playgroup too, hopefully will wear ds out! Been raining here too - I gave in yesterday and let ds run throug the puddles in his wellies

Shoshable · 15/05/2007 08:54

Sorry Crace - I didn't know

I agree with the nature thing btw - but I had 3 in one year & it was so upsetting - so do give yourself some time (iyswim)

crace · 15/05/2007 09:11

I am, I have my rational moments when I know there was nothing I could have done but I am sad too. We won't be trying again for some time - this wasn't planned either.

On a positive note, I am enjoying having my mindees here - couldn't ask for a better treat. I missed them.

dmo · 15/05/2007 09:37

thought about you last night i'm so sorry hope your feeling a bit better today try and rest

PinkChick · 15/05/2007 09:43

glad you're having afairly good day Crace
i have today and tomorrow off..so am just aout to start sanding the filler on the walls in bathroom and give it another coat of paint, although you klnow the saying "you cant polish a turd"? well that applies here!, we really need it tiling, but as we dont have the cash, itll have to be yet another coat of crown white matt for time being..must be 6th-7th coat so far!...just had two cookies for energy..naughty, so will have to work them off vigorously painting now

Earthymama · 15/05/2007 09:46

Do you buy your own wet weather clothes for children or ask parents to send mindees dressed suitably?

PinkChick · 15/05/2007 09:49

i ask parents to send them dressed appropriatly, wether they do or not is different matter!, i would like some cagouls(sp) with business name on and umbreallas too but they cost quite a lots so will have to wait for time being

Earthymama · 15/05/2007 09:53

I can't cope with umbrellas, esp when it's windy. I'm thinking of trawling charity shops and Primark to see if I can get some wellies. i've got 2 rainjackets.
I don't drive and I think parents haven't used public transport for so long thatthey forget the bus doesn't stop outside my door!

PinkChick · 15/05/2007 09:55

send out a 'newsletter' reminding parents to dress their children accordingly, including wellies(so you dont have a mountain of them at home!), rain coats(with hoods) and then suncream, sun hats layers for warm weather, they prob wont do it, but you have at least asked

Earthymama · 15/05/2007 10:11

I tried this week, one parent doesn't want to do that so it means the rest of us can't go puddle jumping!!
I usually make a den, then wrap them up in macs and wellies and we walk the lanes in search of THE BEST PUDDLE. Then back to dry clothes and hot choc in the den.
I'll have to wait to do this with DGC but they've been puddle jumping with my daughter so it's not the same!
By the way, I've been looking after a mindee who had finished in Nov last year; just one after school session a week for a month. She's been so funny, I've had to EXACTLY the things we did when I had her full time, from snacks, to songs, to the path we take to get home from school. It's been so nice to know she remembers and was happy.

crace · 15/05/2007 10:31

It's gloomy and doomy here too, stuck inside today! Both mindee 1 who is ill and my dd are sound asleep so distracting mindee 2 and a few mins of MN!

I want to go outside! I hate this weather

crace · 15/05/2007 10:31

Why doesn't she want to provide bad weather clothes??

julia5 · 15/05/2007 12:29

Hi all I've been inspired and brought hot choc for us all. Only 1 mindee this week, other family in wet west wales on their hols. Mindee asleep bless him we've had a busy time caring for the dolls this morning

dmo · 15/05/2007 12:36

no rain here we have just had lunch outside and children are now playing on slides etc

MaureenMLove · 15/05/2007 12:42

Afternoon all! I steal old wellies from my friends! (And macs too) I've got a big box of various sizes and shapes. Same with winter stuff. There is always a spare pair of gloves or a hat to be had here.

I've only got baby today, so we've done singing time at the library and now she is sleeping. Yesterday me & other mindee, went out and got delibately soaked in the rain! We stamped in really big puddles and waded through a little stream that the rain had made. We were soaked! Came home and dried off in front of TV with warm milk!

julia5 · 15/05/2007 12:47

Hi Mo ! Here have some hot choc, its yummy.
