Argh! Bloody parents.

I hate having to advertise for new mindees (I have a little one leaving for school) because people just muck you about so much. Not turning up, being late, changing requirements constantly etc etc.

I love the children and the job but by far this is the worst bit.

Anyone else?

I have 2 spaces for September (also children starting school), so I'm seeing people now. There do seem to be some people who just like to have a couple of hours at someone else's house , or just book appointments they're never planning to keep . Most are lovely though.

I’m holding out hope! I have amazing parents right now but the three I’ve met with or attempted to meet with are just complete no no’s. Not based on the children, but all the parent’s manners and communication.

I get so many parents who come to me and then have changed their mind about what they want. So on the phone they say they want mon, Tuesday and Wednesday, so I arrange an appointment and then when they come they have changed their mind and want Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, which I can’t do.

I’ve got one trying to make up her mind if she wants me as she’s changed the hours she wants so I’ve changed the price and now she can’t decide if I’m too expensive. Could I have her older boys too for the new price? Errr, nope! It makes my head hurt having to deal with it!

Yep totally get you here. I hate advertising. I’m annoyed with myself because a few weeks ago I had 3 families who were friends of friends approaching me about childcare. I let them all know that I didn’t have any spaces and they have since made alternative arrangements. It has suddenly dawned on me that I should really be trying to fill the places of the mindees who are leaving me in 3 months to start school! I don’t know how that didn’t cross my mind at the time but I now am going to have to go out and find people myself which I hate doing
