Your son should be isolated from other children for 5 days from when the spots come out. So really I think you should tell them that you can not provide care. However, if they still want the care, regardless of your son having Chicken pox, and you feel you will be able to cope with ill son plus a mindee, then why not provide the care... it is up to you and the parents concerned.

My son had 1 spot on friday and slowly its getting more!! He is well in himself just a few spots ?? Should i count it from friday or today with more spots?? If the parents want me to look after mindee should i tell them on the phone that i cannot look after mindee if she gets them??

Talk to Mum and Da. Really should isolated until all the spots are dry but given that chickenpox is at its most contagious the week before the spots show they probably got it if there going to. Plus Mum and dad might want their joyful bundle to catch it, with the get it out the way attitude!.

I'd count the days from when you spotted several clusters... so from Sat or today.

Is this your only mindee?

by the way charmedhay - i bet the parents were glad you'd been honest and let them know the situation - hope your ds doesn't get too poorly - i can still remember the terrible itchiness of chickenpox
