For someone that works from home sporadic hours with the odd meetings out during the week.

Just wondering what childcare options are best for newborn upto 1/2year old

Au pairs are recommended for over 2’s right?

Would it be classed more as a baby nurse / nanny ?

Unclear as to how long someone would be working, are you looking for someone to work 5 days per week, all day (such as 7am-7pm)? Would you want them living with you? Having someone coming in daily will mean they probably live within 10 miles of your home so that helps you target advertising to locals - plus consider how they would get to your home.

Think about what their main role will be, is it childcare or is it housekeeping?

It does not matter what job title you give it, the key thing is being able to explain as simply as possible in an advert what you want the person to do. You may want someone to do 90% housekeeping and 10% childcare - so you would not call them a nanny, but you would call them a housekeeper who had some childcare skills.

When you say that you work "sporadic hours" - do you mean you are looking for someone to work ad hoc hours rather than regular daily hours?
