Please could you tell me do you charge a retainer ( asking other childminders) to the parents of university students.

Students with children that you attend university do you send your children in the holiday? I am led to believe that the university if claiming childcare fund the entire year.

I’m looking for a little clarification and any comments greatly appreciated, thank you.

I’m a student parent and I don’t send the kids to the childminder during school hols. She doesn’t charge a retainer, but there’s always working parents who need childcare for their older children in the school holidays so it means she can simply offer them the space during holidays.

If you need to you can university generally pay the fee as they know a space cant always be filled. In 25 years ive only had holiday only cover for 1 week.
university have longer end of term and no half term so don't generally match local schools so be clear on the dates the parent needs,
