Hi until now I have looked after a baby, myds who is 18mnths and a 10 yr old so until now at snack time I have let the oldest choose what he wants for his snack/tea.
Tomorrow I start with 2 more 8 and 11 and like i said in an earlier thread we have a 45 min turnaround before going dancing how much choice do you give your mindees withregard to snacks? Cos dont mind giving out loads of different things but worried that some weeks what I get in wont get chosen and will then go to waste so what I really want to know is how much choice is too much choice!!!

I put a snack out about 3:45 (usually fruit and/or yoghurts,

then tea just before 5.

When mindees start I get them to fill in a form about likes and dislikes so I am informed. They do still get presented with food they don't like on occasions, but it's not forced on them, just lots of praise for effort!

Schoolies do try it on more with snacks so be firm but fair to begin with. My first mindee aged 4 believed me for months when I told him I didn't buy biscuits only fruit and yogurts . When they are presented with a biscuit they are so grateful!
Even picky eaters will eat healthy stuff when hungry so stand firm!
