Babysitters, what's the going rate?

I am looking at getting a babysitter to look after my two children on the occasional evening so me and DH can get some much needed time out. I have no clue as to how much is reasonable to pay them? Do people pay hourly rates or just a set fee per evening?
TIA

We pay £10 an hour in central London .

Sorry I should have said I'm not in London. So I'm assuming less than £10 an hour then?

£7 per hour - nursery key worker. I feel It's on the low side so always round up (she suggested it)

Surrey/Berkshire border I have clients who pay between £8 and £12 per hour. I’m an experienced childcarer so a local teenager may charge less.

Hourly rate

Sitters do basic nmw

Others vary due to age area and experience £10-12ph hr for qualified nanny

Less for a less experienced /teenager

£5 per hour for an experienced teenager - Surrey/London edge
