Would this be a good idea?

Say stepdaughter moved into the family home (17 and in college), would it be a good idea to get her to cover2 afternoons a week for kids whilst parents are working? Currently have an after school nanny and stepdaughter is also in house.

Depends on the teenager and on the children. Is she wanting to do it? Is she sufficiently older than your other children to have some authority, or will they mess her about?

Also depends on the college hours - they may change term to term so what works now may or may not work later.

If she's responsible etc.. then I don't see why not. If you can already afford a nanny then it'd be nice to give your stepdaughter a bit of money for doing it? As I suppose it takes up time that she could be working. It'd be a win win for you both.
