Average Childminder Rate

I have been experimenting and have come up with a way of plotting on a map the average childminder rates (based on rates shown on ChildcareLink).

It seems to work, though is hard to program. I have done a very very small area (Aldershot, Hampshire) so you can get an idea of how it looks.

To me this sort of information seems as though it could be useful, to both childminders and parents. Yet ChildcareLink do not provide this sort of mapping... perhaps one day they will.

Note: Data is not in real-time, but was is a snapshot of data on 6-April-2007.

Glad you liked it. Spent most of yesterday outdoors near Odiham (Hampshire) - it was lovely weather, perfect for a long walk with a 4-year old.

Off to work now... no rest for me this Easter holiday. Lucky I am a work-a-holic.

That's great, Nick! If you put that on your website, you'd get loads more traffic (and could then charge more to advertisers).
