Policies
Signed register
Signed accident/medication book. Make sure the very front page has been signed by parents re: emergency treatment (I missed this to start with)
Mindee Files - confidentially put away (have they signed to agree policies etc?)
Permission Forms
Birth to Three Matters (stick the poster up if you have it and say you are waiting to go on course)
Make sure you're changing your towels every day
All cupboard locks/stair gates etc in place

Let me think of other stuff

crace · 02/04/2007 15:27

No, a folder for complaints. Go to their site and see if you can find it under that National standards, OCt 2005 addendum. print off a load and put in in a binder labelled Complaints.

Um, the Parent poster needs to be up..

Signed register, medical forms, policies, outings etc Umm Ummmm...

Pictures of all the lovely things you have done, though my inspector never asked for it.

Don't worry, just relax on the day as much as poss, be friendly and open and your relationship with your mindees will show. Try not to worry.

my file is getting finishing touches to chenges tonight, i dont have a pre medication form so will have a look at that site..erm erm...
when i was given my pre reg ispection, she told me my suggested care and set up, including the way i was with my own dd would be classed as outstanding!..id love another one of those?????

Question about this complaints form (sorry to hijack pinkchick).......I've printed pages 13 and 14 off, presume that's right? I'm a bit unsure how this all works? Are we supposed to fill these forms in if we get a complaint? If so, I presume we fill them in should we receive something verbally or in writing? If so, I don't understand why this files of forms should be in easy reach for parents? (or did I get that bit wrong?)

Sorry if sound thick, very tired after days of ds being poorly. Can't think straight!

dmo · 02/04/2007 19:29

good luck

PinkChick · 02/04/2007 20:13

well have been on ncma site and downloaded lots on child protection and found lists of what they look for during inspection, so am adjusting my policies now, then will add anything that was missing, then i will write to ofsted re change of room for overnight stay.what else??

OP posts:
PinkChick · 02/04/2007 21:26

have filed 'properly' mindees details(they were in my fle, but they are now bound in nice coloured thin folders together with childs details-contacts- on front), have done new 'typical day' sheet, printed off my self avaluation form from ncma and.erm..thats it..oh yeah treid ringing fire station for safety check but no answer and email got bounced back??, so will ring them again in morn.if i manage to get any sleep as dd is still poorly and snoring like an auld gadgy

Sorry, the complaints book was explained to me that it could be part of your portfolio. If a parent had an issue, verbal or written you can keep a record about it, and how it was resolved in a confidential manner. it needs to be available for all parents to view, but I would just print off those pages and put them in a binder - hey presto you are all set.

PinkChick · 03/04/2007 14:17

right, so have wrote out a form detailing what a parent can do if she/he has a cmplaint, then i will stick a couple of these at back of policies?..would that be enough or should i buy a folder and label it complaints?

OP posts:
PinkChick · 03/04/2007 14:22

crace, for some reason my printer will not print prioperly?, would be so kind as to email me a cpy of one?

crace · 03/04/2007 14:37

Will do right now, email the whole lot, it's a word doc - page 14 is what you want I think

Um, I think you need a whole separate book/binder just for complaints or maybe tabbed in your portfolio.

what a pain huh?!

PinkChick · 03/04/2007 15:01

thankyou..ill buy a file and put details in

PinkChick · 04/04/2007 19:58

well im glad c.c co ordinator came, she said i should have a written risk assesment which dont have, a list of activites for each age group, which i dont have, a more in depth H&S policy(it covers everything from suncream to lost child FGS!!!!)..and quite a few other things!..so she is emailing me a list tomorrow!

OP posts:
crace · 04/04/2007 20:02

PinkChick · 04/04/2007 20:05

OP posts:
PinkChick · 04/04/2007 20:14

oh, and a visitors log!!!

OP posts:
PinkChick · 10/04/2007 08:38

im getting really nervous now..i keep thinking she will turn up today or wed to 'catch me out'...i dont have my risk assemsment done yet(do i need to do one of these for outings too???), parents havent brought child info sheets back even tho i have given them a second copy now!...i dont have a fire guard which i was told pre inspection i didnt need, but am now concerned that as they all sing from different hymn book, she may mark me down for that?..and when i am in that kind of 'test' situation, i blabber on and go red and get hot and ill have three children with me at time so am very, very nervous now

OP posts:
crace · 10/04/2007 09:31

Oh no, bless you. I kept thinking that too, and luckily she showed up on the day she was supposed to

Kick your parents to bring those back!

Ps - Never did a risk assessment and in my case was fine.

PinkChick · 10/04/2007 09:38

i could try ad libbing on child info sheet, i do know 'most' of thier info ie docs, likes dislikes etc????..would that be bad?
