Had our first Nanny for a few weeks who is fab, she is looking after dd during the Easter hols, ds is in school for a few days of the hols, as their hols are different, but dd (11 )is asking if her friend can come and play for one of the days, is this acceptable to ask our nanny to have one of dd's friends with her? she will probably be taking dd out for the day? She is very flexible but we are not sure of the protocol

Yes absolutely.

Agreed, having a friend over is quite acceptable. Having say a group of friends over would be another matter.

Yes, that's fair. And it's also fair for your DD to some other time go over to her friends house giving nanny a bit of break (or the opportunity to catch up on some other duties).

My nanny is always arranging play dates with theparents from the school gate. And I very much encourage this.

Having another child over on a playdate actually makes a Nannies job easier!

Having other kids might make it easier that is until the little blighters spill bright red nail varnish on the cream carpet .

well that killes that thread then . LOL

yes its fine to ask a friend over.

In my old job i have 2 charges and boy (6) and a girl (4).... i actually preffered for them both to have a friend round...

(their 'best' friends new each other really well) and id sooner have all 4 kids than just to too of them! my job was soooooo much easier

My new job i have youunger charges (4 and 18 months) while i dont have their 'own' friends around, (as such) we regularly see my nanny friends with their charges, who i suppose actually ARE now there friends

I was lucky..... 4 of us nannies with similar age charges who all live local to each other started our new jobs within 4 weeks of each other! All the children are used to seeing each other, eitehr seperataly or all together

happy children = happy nannies!

In fact tomorrow will be the 4th day in a row that ive seen my 'best' nanny friend and her charge (and we do say that her charge and my charge are 'best' friends!)
