I'm looking for an afterschool nanny - any recommendations of where to advertise? I've used Findababysitter.com in the past (but it seems to have been taken over by a french website) and also childcare.co.uk - but they don't usually yield many results, possibly because it's not a "full" nanny role. A friend recommended using Gumtree - I might try this but suspect I'll have to wade through a lot of time-wasters. Anyone gone down this route?

I'm not minded to go through an agency - not for this kind of after school role.

Have you tried looking on the various face book groups? For example I'm in north London and member of a group called "north London Nannys" Crouch end and muswell hill Nannys"

Perhaps if you type into Facebook your area you'll find similar.

Would you consider a Nanny with own child as the whole school pick up thing would appeal to a Nanny with own child.
