Cm's: fee increases

I've not adjusted my fees for a few years and feel it's time to reflect increase in cost, be more in line with local childcare providers (not to mention wanting to just earn a bit more!) . I have a provision in my contract to increase on 1st September and feel I should notify parents sooner rather than later but would appreciate some advice on how/what it the best way to do it. Ideally I'd like to increase my hourly fee by a small amount (thinking 10p?) but my biggest expense is food so I want to start charging for lunch AND increase my evening meal charge - £1.50 for lunch & £2.25 up from £2 for evening meal for all over 1's.

Is this too much to do at once or do it just get it over with in one hit? It won't affect some parents as I'm not changing my set wraparound charges and not all stay for tea, but a couple of parents would get the double whammy and ended up paying around £3 a day more. Anyone done similar?

I think get it over in one hit is better, so they can readjust their budgeting/payments.

In future, I think it's better (for you and them) to have a small annual increase rather than no change for a few years and then a bigger one.

Thanks I agree and definitely plan on doing this in the future Smile
