Which documents to ask from new aupair

I have just found a new aupair to start in September and she accepted the job, yay!
Which documentation do you ask your aupair to provide? This aupair is from an EU country and I was going to ask for 2-3 references and her address. But I was wondering if I should ask for anything else, like copy of passport, criminal record etc. What is the standard? With our current aupair I only asked for references, but we already knew his family through friends and family, so I did not feel the need for further checks. This one is from Aupairworld.
As always, thanks a lot!

Ask for a criminal record check Done in her home country and a photo of her passport/id card. I also ask for two references and photo of driving license

Did you ask the Aupair to get a criminal record check done or did you get it done yourself? I have an aupair coming from France and can't provide a reference as she can't get hold of the person (the person doesn't pick up).

The aupair would need to get it from their home country before they come to the UK. If you don't read the language, then ask if they can get a certified translation.

i would never provide anyone with a copy of my passport. let alone a digital one! not a safe thing to do. none of my aupair/nanny employers ever wanted it. i would happily show the ID and let them write down the details, but no copies. dont know what UK law says about this, but in my home country you are not allowed to ask for a copy.
