Wrap-around care

Just wondering, would you use this as wraparound care?

Ofsted registered childminder
Homework support from qualified teacher
Home cooked evening meal and breakfast (not cooked!)
Lovely garden with undercover play area
Specialist in wrap around care for xxxx school.

So basically, would you be interested in a childminder who just does wrap around care/school drop off and pick up. What hours would you expect them to do? Would it bother you that it would be a 15-20 minute walk each way to school? Also would be unlikely to be able to offer collection from after school clubs etc.

We are South East - London commuter belt if that makes a difference?

If it's a school that doesn't have it's own wraparound I would think you'd be inundated.

I'd be more than happy with the walk if they are relatively safe/ quiet roads.

Or just stay open an hour later than the school wrap-around. I would think that would be popular. 7am- drop off and pick up - 6.30pm?

Thanks Lowdoor, we are fairly close to the station so longer hours makes sense.

Our previous childminder did this. School age only, no littles and sold as a 'homework' club plus breakfast club. After homework done then options of crafts, free play and outdoor space. Home cooked food for all present at tea time. Also 'emergency mum' so if school called and you were an hour or so away she would collect a poorly child for you. She moved house and I really really miss her

I work until 6, so pick up time is sometime between 6:15/6:30 so that service would be pretty bloody awesome for me.

Wow, yes, definitely - especially with extended hours. Have you thought about what you would & would not offer during school holidays? We are starting to struggle here (south Manchester) as holiday provision mostly sports clubs and would love an alternative.

Child-minders do this all the time. Many move to after school and over 8,s as their own family get older.
