What to look for in nurseries

Were in the process of looking at nurseries for baby who will be 7 months when she starts. Being a first time mum I don't really have a clue about what I should look out for.

Does anyone have any questions I should ask or things I should look out for?

Thanks

Low staff turnover.

No smell of alcohol on the breath of staff.

That they have a space! (I left it late that narrowed my choice!)
Its hard as deep down I didn't want him to go so didn't really love anywhere but having worked with nurseries in a previous job I knew I had to have trust that the staff were good and that they cared.

I was worried about the lack of outdoor space at the nursery he goes to but actually I think it's almost an advantage as they use the local play grounds, go for walks every day and he knows the town really well, showing us where the library was and the other play park!
