recruiting an Au pair

a couple of questions for anyone who has had an au pair - or has been an au pair.

If we want someone to start in september when is the best time to start looking? (ie is it too early right now)

Where are the best palces to start looking?

Too much detail? I have been sending a word document to follow up initial contact with a whole host of info about us as a family and about what we need an au pair for. Is this too much info? Conversly some of the queries I've had so far go along the lines of "do I get my own room and how much do I get paid" my instinct is that anyone who asks that and doesn't ask about duties/age of child etc isn't the best bet.

(no-one yet has asked about language classes which puzzles me)

How do you get around the fact that you won't meet the au pair until they start? I'm really not sure at all about this.

Has anyone had success finding an au pair foriegn student from their local university?

A long shot but does anyone know of someone looking for an au pair job to begin aug/sept in yorkshire? We're in Hull - big city, great vibe, fantastic facilities where we live. (cafe's 20 mins to uni, shops, park, swimmjing baths, 15 mins bus or bike to cinema and city centre and train station)
