Want to end contracts

I'm a child minder and I want to give notice to a family.
In my contract Iv said 4 weeks which is fine but it always say the notice should not be given during a period of holiday. They are due to be off next week 😕 does this mean I need to add on a week of notice making it 5 weeks including the week off?
I'm telling them tomorrow, they aren't on holiday until next Tuesday.

Yes, an extra week is needed. But, I always think it's worth asking if they are willing to forgo any of the notice period. They might not want you to have their child if you are giving notice (depending on your reasons).
