Are any of you in a network, what do they do and is it worth it.

Feeling very lonley as a childminder at the moment and maybe need to branch away. In my area I'm the only one doing my NVQ and regulary attend training through the council. I've been childminding for 3 years now and really enjoy it and get the impression the other childminders in the area (only 4) are doing it as a stop gap whilst their children young

I'm in Bedfordshire BTW!!

i started a group up for childminders in my area we met every friday with the children in one of the sure start building
when i started there were 7 of us which was great
but i organised events such as sponcered toddle and make chatter matter and they wouldnt of even given the forms out or collected any money
the last straw was when i looked in the kitty (£1 each week per person) and we had collected a large sum so my idea was to buy some muti cul clothes for dressing up in and each borrow them for 2 weeks each, or take the children to a zoo/farm
they wanted to spend the money on a night out so i was out voted and they went bowling and got drunk
i now dont bother going and the group no longer meets

Got no mindies in morning so I'll be able t have a good chat and make sure it's right for me

Thanks again
