Where to find summer 'nanny' for 12 yr old.

I need help! I need a full time person to care for my DD age 12 over the summer holidays.

I thought I could find a student or someone by word of mouth but have had no luck.

Where can I look?

Local college that does childcare courses?

Have you tried looking for summer day camps? Whereabouts do you live?

Mumsnet local board?

It may appeal to someone who works as a TA in a school during term time. Think of all the people who may be looking for seasonal work.

both our summer nannies came from gumtree - i'd put an ad on there and see

Where are you roughly?

I did this as a second level student after my GCSE equiv. Glorified babysitting really.

Does a 12 yr old really need a FT sitter though? I appreciate that leaving her to her own devices daily for 4-6 weeks is not ideal but there must be lots she could be signed up to ?

I did this at Easter for a 11yr

Too young to stay alone all day and if went to a club then how would she get back as lived in a small town with rubbish travel links

Where do you live? I'm a TA, former nanny and would love something like this definitely ask around at school.
