Would this be a reasonable request to put to a potential nanny?

We're just starting the process really and I've no idea which are the best questions to ask. One of the things I've been wondering about though is car safety. My car is quite expensive and we bought it specifically for safety. We can't afford a third good quality car to give to the nanny so would it be acceptable to suggest that she/he bring their car then I drive their car to work and they use my car to transport the kids?

Please, Nannies don't be offended that I'm suggesting that you all drive rubbish cars. Just that some cars are not as safe as I would like.

p.s. meant to say that I don't think any nanny would agree to your suggestion - they feel the same about their cars as you feel about yours. The issues of insurance and mileage and depreciation would get too complex anyway.
Take it from me any contract, arrangement, relationship with your nanny must be as clear and simple as possible.

I used to be a nanny and I don't think I would have been happy with this idea.

Thanks for the input.
Mitbap, I'm not precious about my car at all. Just about my kids. Also she would be putting quite a lots of miles on my car anyway with nursery run, jo jingles, tumble tots etc. With my supply teaching it's all within a 10mile radius of home. I can see it's a lot more complex than I'd thought so I'll consider buying an older car for me to drive to work.

However, from what some of you have said, it seems that she may not be happy to drive my car at all so I'll need to consider that when interviewing.
