A month ago (in line with our contract) I asked my mindees mum if she would need me to work christmas week. She said yes but on boxing day decided not to start on 27th after all. I agreed as was relieved not to work, but now after discussing it find I am not going to get hol. pay for missed day despite no notice. Feel a bit of a fool for not establishing this at time but is my first Xmas as CM and otherwise have good relationship which do not want to mess up. Also means I keep my contracted holiday days for later. Am I being too soft?

no your just learning..i woke up this morn to realise i am only charging one mindee 1/2 pay this week, when it should be full pay as i already have them down for two weeks no pay later in year..woops..we'll get there!

Perhaps you could tell mum that you would normally have charged xxx in line with the contract but, as there has obviously been some "misunderstanding", then you will let it go this time but make sure that you explain the rules and regulations so that it doesn't happen again??
