Childcare element of tax credits

Advice please,

Are working tax credits tied to claiming child care tax credits? So if my child went to granny while I worked could I still claim working tax credits or do I have to use Ofsted registered child care to claim?

Essentially is it all one claim or are they seperate?

Childcare tax credits are to pay for childcare - registered childcare.
Working tax credits you can recieve (if eligible) wether or not you use childcare or even if you don't have children.
