I'm a new childminder. Could antone who offers overnight care let me know how much you charge so I can get an idea of the going rate.

I don't do overnight but we were advised on our ccp course to charge similar amount to the cost of nearest travelodge.

Seems an odd comparison, but as good a guess as any. As a parent I guess I would expect normal hourly rate - on one hand you don't have to do so much activities with them(!), but on the other hand if they do wake up then it is harder going.

My father's carers charge £75 a night but he's old, mind you he is normally asleep all night.
